It was very good. The ending was very suprising! She left a cliff hanger, which I hate but it makes me anxious for the next book. :)

I absolutely adore this series!

I’ve been in a reading slump and I just knew the Drake boys would help get me out of it and they did.

If you like vampires you will like this series, if you are sooo over vampires you still might like this series. The thing about these novels that make them one of my favorites isn’t because they are about “vampires.” It’s because of the characters in this novel and the story. Sure they may be a vampire by character trait, but just try not to be charmed by the Drake brothers and their baby sister Solange. Try not to be impressed by Lucy and her witty remarks and stubborn nature. I just know that other people will love these characters as much as I do.

I also love the story! The main plot arc just keeps getting better and better. I feel as though this novel is prominently character driven, yet the story still hypnotizes me every time too!

I was thrilled that we still got plenty of Nicholas and Lucy in this one, even though this was Christabel & Connor’s story. Lucy and Nicholas are my favorite, though Christabel is pretty awesome, I mean the girl loves to read! How can I not automatically love her?

My only complaint about this novel, was Solange. What the heck happened to her? She was so not the character that I’ve enjoyed in the previous novels and am really excited to see where that is going!

Can’t wait for me!

I just have one word to say : Christabel !!
It's almost as if the author had been inspired by me to create her ><
I love her red hair, her references (Labyrinth =)), her quotes of long dead English poets, her humor so like Lucy's, her relationship with Connor ... Anyway I totally love her =)
Only one downside:Solange. I liked her vampire princess but still normal side , but now I find just her crybaby !!

Book Title: Bleeding Hearts
Author: Alyxandra Harvey
Genre: YA, Romance, Fantasy
Date Finished: 10/03/2023
Star Review (1-5): 4
Description: The Drakes and friends will be tested when an infestation of deadly vampires threatens Violet Hill.

Lucy's cousin Christabel has come to live in Violet Hill, and adjusting to the difference between life in a small mountain town and her home in the city is difficult enough. The strict curfew that Lucy's parents enforce is the worst part. Something really dangerous couldn't possibly happen in this tiny town.
But Christabel has noticed some mysterious happenings, and it seems like Lucy, her boyfriend Nicholas and his brother Connor are all in on a secret that Christabel doesn't understand—one that seems deadly serious. Although she won't admit it, Christabel would love to be in on any secret with Connor Drake. But when she is kidnapped by the ruthless Hel-Blar vampires, Christabel must cause more and more trouble in Violet Hill, Lucy and Connor finally fill Christabel in on all the undead drama. Together, they must find a way to stamp out the Hel-Blar for good.

Review:I really liked both Connor and Christabel. It was a good to have a character like Christabel who had no clue about any of the vamp stuff. Connor is just as brave as his brothers but he is also sweet and geeky, which I love. I like the new vamps they introduced and I liked that they had Christa turn. I was also a fan of lucy finally going to the school, seemed like the logical thing to do considering how often she has been attacked. That ending though, talk about a cliffhanger.

This book was surprising in a good way. Usually the start of her books are a bit slow and don't make much sense, but I'm happy to say that this beginning was very good!
I really like the romance between Conner and Chrisabel. It was cute, strong and sucked you in, made you want to read until the end with out stoping and almost died when a new chapter started with a different characters point of view! I really liked that Chrisabel was a huge bookworm, and knows books off by heart, and is into the bad boys from books. I even like that she is tough, without being stuck up about it, like she knows she's tough and isn't afraid to show it, but will stick up for her friends, and everybody else. I love that Conners a geeky guy and so unlike the rest of his brothers, who are all good-looking and know it, and he's into computers and comics, and very much like Chrisabel able to quote anything and everything about star wars.
The only problem I had with this book was the fact that Lucy took up most of the book, and I know she was a big part in the book, I just wish there was more to Conner and Chrisabel's relationship. Chrisabel and Conners relationship seemed to develop just a tiny bit to fast, and I wanted to fall in love with both characters like I did with the rest of the books, where it told just their relationship, even though I did fall in love, I do believe I could have fallen harder for all these characters, there were really only like 4 chapters in the whole book told from Conners point of view, I wanted more of him. Chrisabel had more chapters but not many with Conner because she got kidnapped. And everything else in the book revolved around Lucy, and I do like her but I wanted more of just Conner and Chrisabel.
I didn't know what to think about Solange though, the blood change really changes her and (SPOILER ALRET) even makes Nick kick Lucy out because Solange tells nick to make Lucy leave. SheS really changed in this book and you start to worry and question if you trust her! Because even thought its still her and she doesn't mean to do hurtful thing. You start to think that she's getting out of control, and it's kind of scary how her power is taking over her. And then theres this mysterious man, Constantine, who has a great influence of Solange making her defensive of him. The fact that you don't know who he is doesn't help him, and makes him very suspicious and untrustworthy.

So 4.5 stars and this is a really good book and soo can't wait to hear more about the Drakes and there struggles to ruling the vampire world.

This books was amazing. It was at least as good as the previous book, Out For Blood, which is my favorite in The Drake Chronicles series. At first I wasn't sure I was going to like it because I didn't think Connor would be almost as amazing as Quinn, who is my favorite Drake brother. But Connor definitely gives Quinn a run for his money! Christabel, Lucy's cousin really fits into the story also! At first I kinda wished Chloe and Connor would end up together, although that might've been a little obvious. Christabel is way more awesome, with her love for poetry and novels. And she wears combat boots, which it totally cool! She and Connor are adorable together! The book was told from Connor, Christabel and Lucy's POV and I really liked that also. Lucy was hilarious as always. Hunter was in it several times too, but I have to say I missed her and Quinn in cute scenes together. There were some new characters. Christabel was one of them but there also was Saga and Aidan. I loved Aidan right away! Aidan Hawkfeather, such a lovely name! The book had a lot of unexpected turns too. Like Christabel turning into a vampire! So didn't see that coming. And I kept wondering what the hell was going on with Solange! I never really liked her but still... I didn't like the way she was acting, especially towards Kieran and Lucy! And who is Constantine?! Why is Solange so enthralled by him? The ending of the book was simply shocking! What happened to Kieran?! What did Solange do?! I hope he's okay... Cliffhangers are just a way for authors to torture their readers! I enjoyed this book so much I can't even describe my love for it. Alyxandra Harvey really did an excellent job, as always and I can't wait for the next one! 5 stars! ♥

Just like the other books in this series, it keeps me guessing what would happen next, making this book enjoyable to read. It is written in the view point of three people.

Lucy aka Lucky is the only person who narrates throughout the entire series. The second point of view is Christabel, Lucy cousin, who is staying with her family. Lastly, Conor Drake, one of seven brothers, has a crush on Christabel.

The Drake family is the only known family of vampires that on their sixteenth birthday they change into vampires. This causes a problems for their only daughter, Solange, and anyone who is known to be around them. The book can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of 14, who likes action, romance, drama, and vampires.

First i liked to say the cover of Bleeding Hearts looks amazing but then again i do love all the covers of the Drake Chronicles, they are all simply beautiful. Now to the Story. The one thing I like about the Drake Chronicles novels is that each book has different POV in them, and I was very happy that i was getting more Lucy POV as I adore her to the bone. I also like that we get another of the Drake Brothers as one of the perspective as well, in this book it's Conner of the twins. and the last perspective that we get is Christabel, Lucy's cousin whom is new to Violet Hill . I love the way Alyxandra is able to capture all these different roles and characteristic and is able to write from their mind. I loved the Nick and Lucky moments, they are by far my favourite 2 since the first book, even if there was not as many as i wished. Conner, Conner, Conner, I just love him. I loved the interaction between him and Christable, just cute. The twist and turns though the whole book, made me not want to put the book down, it just made me want to keep on reading. I would be lying if i said I did not finish this book in a few hours, as I did. I loved how the characters build and build throughout the books and we get to see changes. I also liked Christable, she is a very interesting character, she is weak yet very strong. She is not the usual girl, I think that is why I liked her so much. I loved the action scenes, it would not be a Drake Chronicle Novel without some action and Lucy is badass and I love it. All I have is one problem... Solange, that is not Alyxandra's fault, she just pissed me off pretty much the whole book, and it made me want to punch her, maybe that is why Alyxandra Harvey wanted us to feel, if she did, well then it worked for me. I love the way Alyxandra writes it is pretty captivating. overall I really liked. The ending wow! The ending did not expect that.

So I give this book a 4 stars out of 5.

Solange is annoying me (which is a purposeful move by the author, but still...) but Lucy's POV is definitely my favorite, so that makes things better!
