Ti si još uvijek u proljeću života. Možeš slobodno hodati po prostranom putu, posutom cvijećem. Možeš proputovati svijet i svoje srce možeš promijeniti u baklju, kojom ćeš si osvjetljavati put. Možeš slobodno misliti, govoriti i raditi; možeš ispisati svoje ime na obličju života.

I had to read this for class. At the beginning it was too different from what I have read before, but by the end I was used to it. I liked this book, it made a strange kind of sense and was a good read. The ending felt final and was a nice conclusion. I borrowed this book from the library, and the binding and cover is beautiful, maroon leather type with gold lettering.

Gibran's writing is, as usual, stunning. This is a tragedy that feels more like a long-form poem than a story. I would have preferred a version of this in verse so that the focus would be more on the language and use of characters as archetypes rather than trying to understand character motivations, which are what suffered the most for me. Hard to give Gibran anything less than a 4 star though.
