I love exploring this world further, although the story of this book didn’t get in my brain the same way the first two books did. Overall still very fun.

An excellent conclusion to a fun series. Now, where did I put that biscuit recipe?

Magical

This book is really engaging and magical. I do recommend reading the other two books first because it's harder to understand without the other two. To those of you who have read the other ones this isn't a letdown.

Compelling conclusion to the Magic Thief trilogy. Fast paced, it redeemed the slower, darker second book in the series.

As a whole, the series is fantastic and a must read for those who miss Harry Potter, a series this is always compared to. But despite being about magic and an orphan boy, the Magic Thief books have a life and story all their own.

EDIT: Upon rereading, not only does this book hold up, it improves. I continue to love this series and hope for a 4th book about Conn

Something about the first two books of this series just didn’t quite pull me in the way I wanted. But this book was just great! It was everything I wanted and more. Fun adventures, interesting twists, dragons, and all in all a great story. I’m glad I kept going with the series to get to this book, and I’m really curious to see where the fourth book will go from here.

I think it's safe to say when you finish the second book of a series, look at your clock and realize there is exactly 20 minutes before the library closes and you can go get the 3rd book and then you don't set it down until you finish reading it 3 hours later that you really enjoyed the book. All the different details thigh out the first two books are wielded together very very well. I was about to punch the book twice because of the idiocy of the people around Conn and what happens in the chapters after the climax of the book, but it was amazing. I think someone that has read the first two books can infer from the title that Conn finds his new locus magicalicus. However, that is quite the journey and so unexpected in its ending that it really makes the book so great! Totally worth a late night of reading and would recommend this book to anyone who is interested and enjoys fantasy books.
