Softly & Tenderly by Sara Evans with Rachel Hauck is a very touching story about a woman named Jade. She thinks she has it all - a wonderful husband and two great businesses. The only thing that's missing is a child of their own. Then she finds out her husband's first love dies and a secret is revealed - her husband cheated on her the night he went to Las Vegas for his bachelor party and she ended up pregnant. Wither her mother's health failing more and more each day, they go back to Jade's childhood home and Jade is faced with decisions she never thought, nor she never wanted, to make. There's also another character dealing with infidelity, as well.

This book was very elegantly written. I have to say, I was surprised to see that it was Sara Evans the country singer that wrote this. But the book was as beautifully written as most of her songs are. It did not take me very long to read Softly & Tenderly at all because it had me hooked from chapter one because of the character dynamics and the conflicts that were going on. I loved the way that Evans and Hauck incorporated religion, because it wasn't overpowering at all, which is the way I like it.

I definitely 100% recommend this book because it has a wonderful story to it. I hope that you will check it out for yourself!

Disclosure: I was given a free ebook in return for my honest opinion, whether positive or negative. All opinions are 100% my own.

I really liked this book. I love all of the characters in this series and love that part of it takes place in Iowa :) It's christian fiction, but not overly...it wasn't thrown in your face too much. Great book & series!
