an eye opening , at times emotionally challenging story that everyone should read. before there was this lunatic bin laden and his followers came up with 9/11 terrorist attack, how many more hideous crimes and harm did they already commit against their own country people. this story gives an insight to such question.

This book was moving and painful to read. It shows how the guilt of not standing up for what is right, and choosing the easy way out can eat at someone. It is about regret, and trying to set things right.

Ugh... how can I like a book so much while still completely disliking the main character? I know that the entire second half of this book is meant to give Amir a redemption arc, but I'm sorry... he is a bad person. And the change in his character that allows for him to make things right supposedly is just too convenient and not really believable. And yet still, this book is well written and and really tells a compelling and emotional story. I would definitely recommend it. 

But damn, f*ck you Amir. A thousand times over.
