I don't feel compelled to read any more of this series, but it's light and cute and I can see the appeal. I think that both boys and girls would enjoy this.

Doing a first read through of one piece after mostly watching the anime when I was younger and catching up with it in the last 2 years. Going to be doing a volume a week until I'm caught up with the series. For this first volume is was nice to go back to the genesis of one piece and compare to where it is now. While having a very simple art and story it has a very charming artwork to it with multiple laugh out loud bits and iconic moments looking back on it that rally shape everything going forward. Luffy has clear goals and character that stands out with the the only real lacking is the first two villians of Morgan and Alvida not doing much for me in this volume.
