The only book that's ever given me a stomache. Extremely well-written with so many layers between the lines... But at what cost?

There's a pretty slow start before things ramp up, and then things take a very sharp left turn with one character in particular and from then on it was hard to feel horrified over the sheer stupidity.

A quick read tho, and with interesting (if extremely literary and not at all realistic) prose. Not a strong recommend but I wouldn't chase anyone off it.

At one point I literally wanted to vomit. What a great horror book!

It's a gripping tale of a toxic relationship gone even more wrong. It could've benefited from being a bit more of a slow burn but it works great as this short novella.

Please check the trigger warnings.

I don't get it. Everyone's out here acting like it's the worse thing they've ever read.  But I just found it meh.

It might be that I don't usually vibe with horror, and that I can't visualize stuff like this.  Also I did have to spoil myself, because someone's review made me think they were gonna peel skin with apple peeler (they don't). If they were i knew i wasn't going to be able to read it. But if all the book relied on was shock value, then it's not good either.
