The amount of hype around this book gives it certain expectations that it simply didn't meet for me. Decent read, but nothing special

Quick, highly intriguing read. Took a partial point off because of all the unanswered questions. I wanted more... In a good way? Very interesting characters. I wish I could get more of their stories.

It’s an extremely disturbing and uncomfortable read, one that will stay with me for a while. Although the writing is good, I think the ending needed developing more. It left me feeling a bit flat, like it needed another few pages.

Note: I don't like giving star ratings as I dont really understand the system. Please forgive the lack of one.

"It's because the planet is a carnivore and just wants to be fed. People want that as well. People like to eat other people. I spent so many years forgetting I had teeth, too."

What an incredibly grotesque and horrifyingly beautiful piece of literature. The book explores a series of encounters between the two main characters. Each one is more disturbing and boundary breaking than the last. It's raw, unflinching and unapologetic. It forces the reader to directly engage with uncomfortable situations and questions.

The writing is not for the faint of heart, but for those willing to confront the true depths of human depravity. I cannot in good faith recommend this book to anyone, unless you thoroughly understand what you're getting into.
