Unnecessarily gross. The story being told within the frame of a true crime case is what held the book together, in my opinion. A trainwreck you can’t help but watch.

ngl i finished it in one sitting and i was HOOKED. it got me out of a huge slump. but would i recommend it to anyone? absolutely not, im ashamed to do so. the characters brains were so out of control that made me feel lime im mentally stable comparing to them

I found it to be just gross rather than scary or tense. Not my kind of horror book, as much as I liked the conceit of early internet connections.

I just don’t think this genre is for me. The writing was fine but the dialogue certainly didn’t sound like 20-something’s even in the early aughts.
