This was not what I thought it was and it what it was wasn't good. I didn't like either of our main characters and felt they were very young for people supposedly in university. It feels like the author has gathered up things that are popular through the most recent years of being online and just thrown them all into a book. There was so much texting and I found that completely took me out of the story. The representation was fine? But overall I can't finish it. It was actually not good

If you liked Loveless and are only reading this on Alice Oseman's review then I wouldn't recommend this at all

not totally sure how to rate this book- i enjoyed reading this, mainly because it’s in large part a story about Wellesley College. i also thought sophie and jo finding a sort of aroace partner in each other was cute, and i liked the ending. i didn’t particularly like the characters however— to me, they both seemed kinda immature/not super likable. but yeah at the end of the day i love wellesley so it was fun to read what was for me basically a wellesley fan fiction. roll blue

This was a fun listen as a Wellesley alum. Of course, when I attended, it was before the age of social media so it is also entertaining to imagine how the experience would have been different. It was also fun since I was able to hear the author in person at YALLWEST recently. Definitely enjoyed!

cute, but pretty juvenile. the second half was more enjoyable, i think. it was a bit hard to get into the two main characters a bit because their arguing and thought processes are a bit silly. overall it’s cute. Nothing much else to say, good or bad.

if books like this had existed when i was in grade school, i might’ve been less annoying. maybe.
this book is a cozy hug, a sweet platonic love story, and a reminder that context is so important when giving advice hahaha can’t wait to read what ann writes next :)

I think this is a great book for teens to read to learn about a few of the varying experiences of aroace people, and just about good healthy relationships in general! I loved the scene where Sophie ran to the library to hug Jo and tell her she loves her like in dramatic movie/book scenes, it warmed my aroace heart fr. I think the relationship they give in the book is good but def will require more nuance and discussion for people past their teens, but I think it’s a good starting point. Also Jo explaining her fear of her friends prioritizing their romantic relationships over them is a very real fear of mine that I’ve experienced since middle school and I felt very seen when she discussed this. “To accept my sexuality I have to be okay with constantly questioning it”
