Ok ok...

at first I rlly thought I was only gonna give it maybe 3.5 or 4 stars but the ending kinda did hit for me and I was compelled to give a higher rating.

ironically, for half of the book I felt a little like what Less hears abt his book. no one cares about a middle aged white man just wandering around. but it's prose and less himself rlly did move me by the end. I feel like this book would hit a little more if I was older, but it still made me feel-- at least to some degree-- what it was trying to accomplish.

Definitely cute and realistic of a mid life crisis of a homosexual man who was thinking back of past mistakes of love and keeping the distractions of life going.
The ending definitely brought in my attention more. Very cute!

The hype around this book probably hasn’t done it any favours. It was great - clean writing, good characters, strong dialogue - but, the Pulitzer?!

Easy reading, nice and light. Lots of comments on lots of different types of relationships and happiness. Gave me the ending I wanted. I didn't find the character as likeable as I think the author wanted me to, but I was happy when nice things happened to him. I found it to slump a bit in the middle, but definitely a fun read.
