This was a really fun read. I can’t really talk about if it’s historically accurate or not, but I don’t really care. I really liked both Maddie and Logan.
She was really relatable. I like that she was pretty awkward, but she still wanted closeness. I feel like a lot of these characters reject love altogether, but she had kind of an unconscious desire. I also like that she had a real interest and that she was able to pursue it. I also like that it wasn’t just reading or writing because that is so common that it’s fun when the hobby is a bit different.
I really like the whole squad and I feel like Logan’s struggle with leadership with a good plot line. I also like how the premise of their fake relationship was set up. Of course is kind of exaggerated and dumb (because how are you really gonna do this seriously?) but for a fake marriage, it was a good one.

This book probably doesn't deserve such a low rating. It was fine! But I'm just kind of sick of reading about BIG dudes and TINY ladies, and I also wasn't into the way that he kept trying to sleep with her even after she said she wanted to take it slow.
My first ever Tessa Dare book!
Captain Logan “MacDreamy” Mackenzie is a man after my heart. He is grumpy and alpha but also wears reading glasses and reads Jane Austen. He is a broken man traumatized by the war and his childhood but is loyal and has the biggest heart.
He is the perfect man for Maddie. And once Maddie realized her feelings for him, she didn’t give up in convincing him to give their marriage a chance.
So glad I picked this up. Will read more Tessa Dare in the future.

"When a Scot Ties the Knot" handelt von einer englischen Frau, die einen erfundenen schottischen Freund hat, dem sie im Krieg über Jahre hinweg Briefe schreibt, nur um nicht heiraten zu müssen. Maddie hat - so könnte man es sagen - nämlich eine Angststörung und vermeidet es, mit Fremden zu reden. Kein Wunder also, dass sie den größten Schock ihres Lebens bekommt, als ihr ausgedachter schottischer Freund plötzlich vor ihrer Türe steht und heiraten will.
Meine Bewertung: Ich muss schon sagen, dass einige Stellen in dem Buch echt lustig waren. Auch die Idee und Story an sich fand ich gut. Mir fehlte es allerdings an emotionaler Tiefe, die zwar oft angerissen, aber nicht angemessen ausgeführt wurde. Insgesamt gab mir das Buch sehr starke Outlander und Bridgerton vibes lol. Am besten gefallen hat mir der schottische Akzent der Hörbuchsprecherin im Wechsel mit dem britischen Akzent. Mega mega 10/10. Als entspannte Story auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen, als besonderes Highlight jedoch nicht.
