if you can look past the late 80s male gaze this book is a deeply philosophical and contemplative narrative on the adverse effects of humanity on the universe and they’re unending narcissism and need for control

This book is built on a great premise, a Sci-fi version of the Canterbury Tales. It's compelling and both rich in detail and nuance. It is a bit of a heavy read but definitely worth the effort. Would recommend to anyone looking for their next great read.

I honestly probably could've liked this book I just wasn't vibing with the set up. There's only one female character and the initial pov is immediately making uncomfortable comments about her. It also just is so much scifi language immediately that I was having trouble keeping up with things.
