Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review from publisher via NetGalley.

Light, not a lot of substance to it, but great to satisfy a craving for a simple romance. I felt like neither of the characters was very deeply developed so even though I enjoyed the story overall, I wasn't very invested.

Some very predictable tropes, but I liked the setting (West End stage actors) and the writing itself was much better than usual. I doubt I will reread, but it was a nice, light romance.

CW: profanity and multiple bedroom scenes, though they were easy to skip.

So, still 5 stars for the book.

Still don't like this narrator.

Fantastic read. It's no secret that I am trash for the fake dating trope and it was done so well in this. They started out kind of hating each other, the banter between them was great - I really loved it.

A lovely fake relationship romance about two West End actors. As a former theatre professional, I enjoyed the workplace dynamics. I am usually not a big fan of “bad boy” heroes, but Lucy Parker did a wonderful job with the chemistry between the leads, providing a sympathetic perspective during the heroes POV and playing with the dynamics of reality vs. image that are part of both theatre and the tabloid press.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and The Austen Playbook is also high on my TBR pile!

Probably a 3.5 but I'm rating it up because it surprised me with how cute it was.
