Lady Madeline Melbourne spent her first season looking for a wealthy match to help her family.  She spent time dancing and talking with Arthur Carmichael and enjoyed her time with him. However she ended up marrying Lord Mulbourne who became known as an expert in art.  Their marriage was a matter of convenience, they were not in love but did become friends.  Lord Mulbourne died leaving Lady Madeline a widow as a young woman.  Lady Madeline’s companion and friend needed her help so she was helping her gather all of her family's priceless artifacts.  Arthur Charmichael who later became the Marquess of Bancroft and a spy for the government.  Lady Madeline and Arthur’s paths cross as they both try to accomplish their goals.  I loved this story and enjoyed how Madeline and Arthur come together in this story.

A very satisfying HAE

I adored the hero and heroine, their chemistry was wonderful. There was one scene in the maze that wasn't of the same great quality as the rest of the book but overall I would recommend this book.
