Although this is noted as book 1, it is very much a standalone and the romance is definately HEA.  There may be an overreaching story arc, but it has nothing to do with the romance aspect.  This is also the first time I've read this author.
This is a difficult book for me to rate.  There was a lot I liked about it, but also a lot that I didn't.  The first chapter had me almost DNF'ing right there.  I don't want to give spoilers so I won't go into details, but it really put me off Damon and I can see no real reason why it was necessary apart from instant shock value for the reader. This book is dark and has Misty there when the H is doing the worst of it.  I understand the reason in this instance, but this book pulls no punches with violence.  The sex also borderlines sexual violence and I didn't like the potential impact to Misty professionally by Damon's actions.
However, once Damon and Misty came togethter I loved their dynamic.  The care that Damon took of Misty, both privately and in public, was wonderful. When they were together I loved this couple so much it made up for sections that turned me off.
Overall, I liked the relationship part of this story, but the rest of it, and the level of violence will prevent me from reading any more in this series.

(ARC Review)

First of all, I absolutely loved the dynamic of the four brothers. I would gladly read more of their stories.

This was a fun quick read, but not without a couple flaws.

I would have liked to see a prologue chapter for Damon l. He had the potential to be a really complex character, but I think we only get glimpses of that.

Chapter 38 seemed out of place for Misty’s character. There needed to be more on page dark build up to make this chapter believable.

It also felt like there was a lot more to Misty’s background and her family that I expected to play a bigger part in the story.

Overall it was a good book, maybe not as good as the Rule Breakers books. But still worth the read.

Heed the trigger warnings.
