I added this to my TBR list and plucked it off again without remembering why I had put it on there. I was a lot more interested in this story than I thought I would be.
Before I go further, I have to say that the way she reads is often more funny than what she says. I also have never seen King of Queens, so really had no clue about her or her acting career.
Interesting perspective from someone who spent many formative and adult years inside the church of scientology. It makes me wonder about how easy it is for someone to get sucked into that world.
Ms. Remini also discusses her career path, in conjunction with her extensive time spent as a scientologist.

This is one of my favorite books that I've read all year. I admire Leah's upfront perspective and that she didn't try to sugarcoat her own faults. Interesting to the last page. I do feel as though she held a lot back when writing this, maybe out of fear, but it's still a fantastic read.

Fascinating! Scientology is something I knew nothing about.

The writing felt quite clinical and I wasn't drawn in

“You were either all in or all out. It is an extremist religion. There is no middle ground. And there within its structure lies the danger.”

I have been wanting to read Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology for a long time. I confess that I have been known to fall down the rabbit hole of reading books written by defectors of cult-like religions. I love Leah on The King of Queens and was really interested to hear what she had to say about Scientology. I have to say, when I learned she was a Scientologist my love for her waned just a bit. Not because I am religiously intolerant it is just that, I cannot begin to wrap my head around the fact that people actually fell for L. Ron Hubbard's bullsh*t. Ok, back to the book. I thought it was interesting, especially as she was brought into the church as a young girl. It is no surprise to me that Leah did not make it in the church or that she continuously found herself in trouble. As a self-proclaimed "...combative, inquisitive, argumentative person..." it is a wonder she lasted as long as she did.

I enjoyed the book, not as much as I enjoyed Going Clear but, it was good. All in all, an interesting read that I would recommend to others.
