vibe of this book:
quirky, dark humor, reflective but in a pretty surface level way. quick read and a perfect palate cleanser. we support women’s rights and women’s wrongs i guess.
Graphic: Blood and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Death of parent and Murder

I love a murder and I love inner turmoil. Korede is a nurse bound by duty and love to clean up her younger sister’s messes and those messes are murders. Ayoola will claim the men attacked her and Korede pretends to believe her.
The plot kicks off when Ayoola sets her sights on Korede’s coworker. Unfortunately, Korede is in love with him.
I enjoy the compactness of the book but I feel like some of the themes could have been fleshed out further with a bit more length - especially that reveal about Korede at the end.
****Spoilers******
A lot of people didn’t care for the ending, but I enjoyed it - it was a twist among twists that felt realistic. Korede was in too deep. She was too involved and she loved her sister too much to turn her in. It almost reminded me of Crime and Punishment or the Secret History - the main character in so deep that they must face the music whether that be going to jail or continuing to cover up someone else’s crimes to avoid jail time.
