A timeless narrative exploring sibling rivalry and societal norms. The author’s unique storytelling technique immediately captivates the reader, transporting them between the past and present as they unravel the truth. Engaging, original, and accessible, the steady pacing, plot twists, and compelling storyline exceeded my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

interesting premise and really well written characters but I'd have enjoyed this way more as a movie

the characters pissed me off too much though; it was extremely frustrating to be in Korede's head
(probably because a lot of her behaviours mirror coping mechanisms of show a hypothetical future where my own OCD is controlling me rather than it being the other way around... Still it's a lot to think about and an fun quick read nonetheless)

This was captivating, a really fast read in part because it was short but mainly because it drew me into the world. A really great story about the lengths we go to to protect our family.

I enjoyed this contemporary story. It's not so much a mystery or thriller as a book about relationships and family.  It was excellent on audio with the narrator's lovely accent.

I really loved the writing style of this book. The short chapters make it go by very quickly too! It was a fun read and even though I don't typically go for thrillers I enjoyed it.

A mildly thrilling but “fun” read. I loved the short chapters and writing style. The chapters felt light even though some of the scenes were kinda gruesome/troubling.

I thought Korede’s character was interesting and she took a turn, I didn’t expect her to take. Her and Ayoola are really two sides of the same coin.

My only wish was that they told the real story of how the the father died and how the girls carried out the plans. I think that would’ve gave more clarity to why Ayoola was a killer and why Korede thought of herself as the good one.

Overall I enjoyed this read. Not super scary but enough edge that you would want to finish in one sitting.

I really liked this, not so much as a thriller but as a black comedy. I liked the exploration of the sisters' relationship, though I wish that Ayoola was more developed as a character. It felt like she was a bit one-dimensional until the end. It was short, well paced, and the narrator for the audiobook was great.
