Doesn't everyone dream of going back and knowing what you know now? Alice gets to keep going back to one particular day until she gets it right.
Spoiler: she was only able to make changes because she didn't have kids. Once you've had kids, not having them isn't an option. You can't unwish your own children. So she could dabble in a new present day that included kids without the attachment she would really have if her first trajectory had been as a mother. She was aimless and passionless and that allowed her to manipulate how she ended up.
I enjoy most stories that fuck with the space-time continuum, and I liked all the pop culture references to other stories in the books. If you like this, read Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. Or watch Russian Doll.

The pacing was all off. The last third of the book went crazy fast and didn’t have a satisfying resolution because you could see what was coming from a mile away the whole time. The prose also became rushed and a little confusing. An unnecessary addition to the long list of books that tackle time travel.

I need to confess that at first I thought it was going to be a cheesy novel, but it got me in the reflections about building and nurturing relations along the life. There are a few facts that don't make sense, like when she is having trouble remembering things, and someone says how much she shares stuff on Instagram and she does not check her account. But overall, it is a good novel to spend time with and have some fun.
Main character follows in her dad’s footsteps, time traveling back to the same moment in time. She tries to change the sequence of events that lead to her present day life, motivated by the desire to extend her dad’s life.
