Thank you Net Galley and publishers for letting me read and review this book.

Overall a very cute and enjoyable book. Not quite an enemies to lovers, more like both grumpy to sunshine. The first couple of chapters took me awhile to get into and were kinda boring to me. After that, it picked up and I really enjoyed both of them learning things about themselves and changing for the better. They learned that there are more important things in life.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! This is my voluntary review:

I honestly enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would! I didn't really know what I was getting into, but I was hooked after the first two chapters. The two main characters, Ty and Gwen, are likeable even at their worst. Gwen especially is very emotionally intelligent, which I love since so many women in STEM are never given that characterization. For a forced proximity romance, I don't feel like there as anything cliche about it and it didn't rely on situations that were completely unrecognizable or unreasonable. Using Napper's funeral journey as a physical and metaphorical journey worked really well and was rewarding.

Two points of contention:
- the portrayal of Michael, Ty's autistic brother, was less than ideal. As someone with autistic individuals in my life, I wanted to see more of Michael, not just read his quote or hear about him from Ty. Assuming that someone with autism has a sophisticated vocabulary or doesn't have any social mannerisms themselves makes neurodivergent folk into a monolith, and I feel like that's reductive in a book that otherwise does really well with playing against tropes.
- the chapter titles were a little cringy

The Space Between Us by Melanie Summers

This book had me smiling big after it ended. This was a heartwarming, heart-touching, and lifting-your-mood-up kind of story.

Gwen Fox, an astrobiologist, is determined to save her space research program from a billionaire named Ty Sterling.

They find themselves stranded in the jungle, and their attraction grows. The story explores themes of enemies to lovers, billionaire meets S.T.E.M. romance, romance, adventure, and danger, with a secret cinnamon roll hero and loads of witty banter and tension.

Ty and Gwen had great chemistry and traits that were well developed, giving us amazing personalities. Ty, though cynical, was so good.

Enemies to Lovers: My favorite trope is immensely well done by the author here. It made the book cute. It was an emotional rollercoaster, sweet, had adventure with all the embarrassing stuff, and did come with a unique plot that I haven't come across in any other book yet, which made this interesting.

The dual POV was the highlight for me. When it is enemies to lovers, dual POV is needed. This had me laughing, giggly, rolling my eyes, and at the same time being frustrated with the characters. My favorite was Michael. He was the sweetest character Melanie brought to life.

There is a scene that comes up in the book that is kind of cringeworthy but funny at the same time. The writing and pacing were well done and had me turning the pages over quickly. Each chapter was titled in a funny way, which I absolutely loved. There was spice too, but not much.

This was a great and fun read, and I recommend it to all rom-com lovers.

Fun grumpy-grumpy rom-com, which is not a trope I knew I needed until this story but I loved it! Quick read, bit of an old-school, zany caper. I loved the snarky fmc, I snickered more than once. Not thrilled with some of the sexist scenarios and objectification early on in the book, but the fmc wasn't really either so I guess that's something. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

Its the funniest rom com I have read so far. I recommend the audiobook.

The Space Between Us is an interesting and fast paced book about a researcher and a billionaire who is against fringe science. They are out on an adventure setup as the last wishes of the billionaires partner. It wasnt too science heavy which I appreciated, it was high level and it was interesting to hear about all the weird science stuff that people are trying to get money for but it was about the people behind it. The relationship between the two was insta-lust but it was also well done and brought the audience along for the ride. A fun book.

This book does a good job of conveying the message of the story and I liked the overall character development. Some parts were unrealistic enough to make me cringe and it was cliche/predictable, but very lighthearted and an easy read
