I was lured into this by a Facebook Ad. I paid a stupid amount to keep reading this because somehow I was gripped from the first few lines. There were loads of typos, and it definitely fell foul to the too many main characters to really develop any of them. The MC was pretty badass though, I loved how it wasn't just a physical strength she had but a mental strength and wit that always had her coming out on top. The romance was fun! Especially the early chapters. I wish the mated thing had been stretched out a bit more cause I enjoyed the tension of him knowing and her not. Overall it was fun and gripping and the MC was amazing. Not sure it was worth what I paid, but it was good fun!

This book was SO cheesy. Every line was so precise it felt fake honestly. Not in a bad way but so obvious I laughed through most of it. Everything was so conveniently timed out.

⚜Genre: Paranormal Fantasy Romance
⚜Theme: Shifter Paranormal Romance
⚜Targeted audience: Adults
⚜Characters: Alpha, Beta, Omega
⚜Representation: Non
⚜TW: Violence, decapitation, murder, poisoning, drugging, kidnapping, manipulation
⚜ tropes: betrayal, second chance, revenge, fated mates
⚜ POV: third person multiple... but like everyone's POV is in the same chapter. For me, it wasn't confusing cause I am used to that and I love this cause I get to see how everyone is thinking.

⚜standalone: yes, and you could stop at this book but you are left wanting to read the next one
⚜Pace: Fast.
⚜Ending: HEA, setting the mood for the next book

My only criticism here is that this book deserved to be a trilogy. So many things were happening at the same time, and many side characters were interesting enough to deserve their own backstory. But for an indie author, this was one of the best Shifter Romances I have ever read.

Spoiler-free Summary because this is in the blurb of the book

Riannon Thorn is a young woman raised to be the perfect Luna—the mate of the Alpha werewolf. She possesses beauty, intelligence, and strength, but she also feels trapped by the weight of her role. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she discovers that her husband, Alpha Brayden, has a true mate named Roxy. This revelation shatters Riannon's world, jeopardizing her cherished position as Luna. Roxy had Riannon murdered to take her place as the Luna of her Pack. However, fate intervenes because Riannon is granted a second chance at life—a gift from the Moon Goddess herself. In this new timeline, she makes deliberate changes, unaware that her actions will set off a chain reaction of unforeseen consequences. Buuuuut, the one thing she did not foresee is her true mate, the Lycan King.

I love Shifter Romances when they intertwine modern-day issues in the story. The book weaves a thrilling paranormal romance, exploring themes of betrayal, forgiveness, fate, and free will. It touches on themes such as
- Selfish husbands who want it all
- Betrayal after a long love-story
- Second chances in life and how to approach them when given
- Female resilient and empowerment
- Using your brains when you know physical force does not work

Gilbert's writing is simple. You do not get tangled with the prose or complicated lines. But that is not what drew me in. I was absolutely in love with Riannon. That woman could turn me to bat to the other team :). She is the epitome of a woman who knows her worth and not afraid to show it. Probably why every male thrived for her attention.
No, she is not a Mary Sue. Yes she is beautiful, but it was her brains, her strength, her kindness, her resilience, her compassion, her decisiveness, and her hard work that shaped it into the title of the book, The Perfect Luna. 🌕🐺✨

I loved how the author make you fall in love with certain characters and hate with a passion others, but then you understand their reasoning and you start wishing for their redemption. I do not want to spoil any here, but be prepared for twists, turns, and surprises along the way.
