The only Grisham book I stopped reading. It just went nowhere!

This is the first book of short stories I have read. I enjoyed some more than others, but thought overall it was a good collection.

Very quick and very easy read but not anything exciting. Why must writers make southerns seem ignorant, greedy, and/or corrupt. The only characters I felt any sympathy for was the two in the last story!

Captivating short vignettes. He always tells a good story.

This was a very good collection of stories. There's no point or overall message, but the stories do manage to capture a sense of place, which I guess is all that they were meant to do. None really stand out as 'the most brilliant story ever,' or anything close, but there were no bad ones, either.

Decent set of short stories, but nothing spectacular.

Why did I pick up a John Grisham book? Because I thought it would be cool to read stories about Mississippi, and because that Tom Cruise lawyer movie was pretty good? This was not for me.
