Found this really interesting and easy to read. He makes a lot of good points about how we think about work and a better approach to this. Really inspiring and makes me want to consider how I can gain more control over my own career

The introduction was engaging and made me want to read further. I was quickly disappointed. I made it to the end while skipping a lot of paragraphs.

Is this book a 100% bad ? No. It could help someone who have a corporate job and want to escape, without knowing anyone living this kind of lifestyle. This is why I gave 2 stars.

In the other hand, if you already are a freelancer, digital nomad, or anything else that could refer to "the pathless path", this book may be boring.
It's badly written, self-centred around the story of the author (it feels like he is a narcissist at some point), and lacking content.
The book is divided in way too small chapters, where the author will tell you his story during 50-70% of them, then the story of someone else, and finish on a generic sentence or advice.
No idea is really developed, it's just a sequence of stories and not the essay I thought it would be. Be careful with this kind of path, because you will need :
-Money while you figure out what you want to do and how to do it (finding clients, declaring your taxes, etc)
-Competence that someone is willing to pay for (so a high education)
-Skills that can be used remotely

See this kind of lifestyle as a taylor-made suit: it doesn't fit anyone and you need money to be able to afford it. Dream carefully!

This is a great book that inspires you to challenge the default assumptions of society and look towards what truly inspires you. The author gives ample practical examples of how it can be done. I can highly recommend reading it even if you have no plans of changing what you currently do. I found it very inspirational.

I was excited to read this as someone who has always been on ‘the pathless path’ (and now embarking along a new fork on said path). But while much of his experiences resonated with me, it offered little insight for those already navigating this path - especially for times when things become particularly unsteady and uncertain. This turned out to be more of a memoir focusing on the author’s professional life. It also doesn't sufficiently consider the role of privilege that some may have over others for achieving success on such a risky and uncertain path.

However, I see its usefulness for convincing persons who are now considering shaking up their life and taking this leap for the first time.

There are some YouTube channels that I’ve watched (for example, about credit card points and travel) not so much for the information, but more so to absorb the personality and character of the person so that I could have the courage to do the things they’re doing. THIS BOOK IS LIKE THAT. The info isn’t earth shattering. Most of it you’ve probably heard before. But this author has gone from a “9 to 5” life to freedom, and hearing about his journey helps to absorb the courage to do it myself.

extremely boring and repetitive. also, we can’t all follow the corporate to blogger pipeline… if no one did anything real, there would be nothing to blog about.

This book is the perfect companion for someone who has dared to ask this question: Is this the life that I want to live?
