It has been a while since I dipped back into a book in the Will Trent series and despite that it felt very easy to get back into it with the familiar characters. This story starts out one way.... and I wasnt very sure where it was going, kept trying to link it to the title of the book... then that sort of makes sense towards the end, where the book is entirely not what I expected. She says this story only lasts over a few days well boy, it felt way longer than that with the amount of information our team figures out !
It was a unique and sad story with a lot of moving pieces and characters. Lots of trigger warnings as usual for a Ms Slaughter book.

The half star goes to the ending. I was almost crying for happiness, I need the next book so bad!
This one is different from the previous books in this series, even the writing style, but that's also understanding due to the type of story. Her usual style probably wouldn't have hold this one that well. Karin Slaughter doesn't disappoint the readers, you might not enjoy as much as the other ones, but the truth is this is a solid book, with a solid plot, informative and very up to date; there is no loose ends. Although it is quite a big boy, do not be afraid, it is a fast and addictive read.
Some passages were hard to digest due to the content and how it still applies, unfortunately, to nowadays. We still get those graphic descriptions we were used to at the beginning of the series, still very gruesome and gory, but at the same time I think there has been worse ones than these? Still very disturbing nonetheless.
I missed reading about Will, Sara, Faith and Amanda, I just enjoy them so much. Karin Slaughter is one of my favourite writers of this genre and of all time, and I'm thankful for her creating these characters. I just want to read the next one so bad!
