I spend all day doing science.  I don’t need to read about it in my spare time 😂

Helpful recap of all memory things you have read an article about in the last few years. Remember better by paying attention and creating cues for yourself to follow later like bread crumbs. Memories are tricksy and change every time you retrieve them. You forget out of necessity, and it you want to forget certain things, just do the remembering tips in reverse. Don’t pay attention, and don’t keep retrieving the memory. For memory health, SLEEP 7-9 hours a night, eat well, exercise, learn new things. If you get Alzheimer’s, you can still love.

This was an awesome book about remembering and the how and why around it.

I remember very little. From childhood through adulthood and this book did give me a little insight on why that is.

Why only 3 stars? For me, it read too much like a text book (which, I guess it is).

Many thanks to Netgalley and Rodale Inc Harmony for this advanced readers copy. This book is scheduled to release in March 2021.

I love Lisa Genova’s fictional books and was quite curious as to how her non-fiction would read – fully scientific or layman’s terms?  I was pleased to find it easy to follow and very interesting.  As a bonus, I learned a lot.  There are actual reasons as to why I forget things and ways to try to remember things.  I also now have an excuse to take naps and/or go to bed earlier to help commit information to memory.  Who doesn’t like more sleep??
