Ohhhh yeah!!!!

Ruthless is some good ol' fashioned naughty fun with a side of "oops I fell!!!!" This smoking hot story is fun all around. It has a sassy honey badger heroine, a kohl wearing stripper with dual looks that could rival any fantasy, and an arrangement that is sure to make your clothes fall of in jealousy.

I am feeling needy now. I jumped into this series with Ruthless and feel torn. I know I need to read Chance's story (Shameless)...but I'm dying for Rowdy's. Guess I will need to read one while waiting for the other!!!

Ruthless is the second book in the Playboys in Love series by Gina L. Maxwell. Each book is a standalone story and they do not need to be read in order for you to enjoy or understand them. This book was hot and I really enjoyed it! The Playboys in Love series focuses on a group of guy friends that are male strippers after hours and outside of their day jobs. I love this concept, and Gina L. Maxwell definitely doesn't disappoint with these guys!

Roman Reeves is a hot shot lawyer by day and Ruthless the sexy exotic dancer by night. He doesn't have many rules, but he definitely doesn't date friends of friends. Everything changes when he meets Addison Paige though. Since she is a friend of a friend, she is completely off limits, except that he soon finds himself unable to stop the attraction between them. But things get more complicated when she is hired for his firm, and he suddenly finds himself her boss. Roman isn't known as Ruthless for no reason though, and he is determined to have her even if it means breaking all his rules.

These two were super hot together, and I couldn't get enough of them. I will say that this book is on the erotic side, and readers should know that there are some situations involving menage and sharing partners as well as voyeurism. If any of that bothers you, this book might not be right for you. I honestly loved the chemistry between these two though, and definitely recommend giving it a shot if you like a romance with a healthy dose of steam! Roman has specific desires and kinks, and I loved that Addison was accepting of those. The banter was good, and I enjoyed this group of characters a lot.

Overall, I enjoyed this one a lot and would definitely recommend. There were a few things that kept this one from being a five star for me, one being the lack of communication and assumptions/judgments that were made. I understand the need for some conflict, but I find myself getting frustrated when characters can't talk to one another and let simple mistaken beliefs and miscommunication damage what they are building. Still a good story though, and the heat in this one was definitely worth the read. I am looking forward to reading more in this series from Gina L. Maxwell.

Ruthless by Gina L Maxwell is the second book in her Playboys in Love series. I read this book as a stand alone and had no problems at all even though I didn't read the first book. I do have to say that this is one HOT book so be prepared for a very sexy read.

Roman has two lives one as a lawyer and another as a stripper with his two best friends. But he has also another part of his life that involves a more kinkier side of his life...he likes to share the women with his friend. When he meets Addison at the club one night they share a very hot encounter that night but little does he know that when he splits from his father's law firm to form his own that he'll be meeting Addison again. She agrees to try his kink and they become a couple, but when Roman jumps to the wrong conclusion both of them will need to find a way to find their way back to each other.

Addison has always fought for what she wants to do not her parents and when she decides to chose Roman's small firm over a well known firm, she wonders if they'll be able to keep separate their attraction for each other vs working cases together. Once she discovers that both Roman and Austin share their woman (Oh man the phone sex scene is a doozy!) can she decide that this is what is wants even when she falls in love? Their misunderstanding will need Austin to clear up the issue that broke both Addison and Roman but is it too late?

If you thought Shameless was hot, wait until you get your hands on Ruthless!!! I'm actually quite surprised that I didn't spontaneously combust from the heat between Addie and Roman.

Much like in Shameless, the plot line for Ruthless was just the right amount of taboo that made me nervous but kept me interested. I admit, for a lot of readers, this won't be THAT taboo but, for me, Roman's kink is right on the border of yes please and I'm not sure this is for me. That being said, Gina L. Maxwell has a way of writing that makes me second guessing my sexual limitations and frankly I can't get enough.

Roman is the perfect balance of hardworking and professional by day and ruthless and sexy by night. And the piercings and tattoos...oh my. Addie is confident, strong and up for any challenge. The two of them together are combustible. Addie brings out the best of Roman while accepting the ruthless part of him and he has a way of bringing out her vulnerable side and pushing her out of her comfort zone without breaking her trust.

The sexual connection between them was really the most powerful thing for me though, because it wasn't just physical, it almost felt spiritual which I didn't expect at all. I'm questioning everything I thought about this kink and there's nothing I like better than broadening my horizon.

It seems that Mrs. Maxwell is exceeding all of my expectations with this series and from what we learned about Austin in this book, I have a feeling that she will be three for three and I can't wait.
