Iris and Roman... *sigh*. I don't even have words for this magically amazing book. This book was so light and innocent, yet so dark and intense at the same time. This is my favorite type of fantasy book; Fourth Wing and even ACOTAR are so heavy on the darkness of the realms and lots and lots of war. This book focused around a war that was ravishing the world where Roman and Iris lived, but the romance factor and the family dynamics and the FEELINGS all outshined the war topic which I loved.

I am such a sucker for fated mates and rivals/enemies to lovers and this book... boy, did it have both of those tropes. It also gave me such Harry Potter vibes, which made it such a cozy and easy read. I can easily see this book being a Dramione fic, tbh. The whole world reminded me of Hogwarts/Hogsmeade/the world of HP and GOD that made it so much better bc who doesn't love diving into the world of Harry Potter for a little while?!

I am desperate to get my hands on Ruthless Vows! I need to know what

happened to Roman after Dacre got to him and what the fuck is up with Forest. I wonder if Forest will be a big part of the second book, but he was probably my least favorite character once he came back.

Everyone who loves 'realistic' romantasy and HP vibes, this book is for you, go grab yourself a copy! You will not be disappointed! This book is TOTALLY 1000000% worth the booksta/booktok hype. It did NOT disappoint!

Lovely rivals-to-lovers story. I loved the writing style and the author’s approach to the magic in this world. Easy read and am looking forward to the sequel.

Instant five stars. This book was the kind of predictable that made you hope you were wrong and any drop in action left you waiting for the other shoe to drop. It was so tense and well-developed. I was so scared to start it but so worth the hype.
