Odd story. I guess some kids like skulls and skeletons and those who do would like this book. The author's note at the back of the book is what sticks with me. Jon Klassen READ a book called The Skull when he was in Canada, kept thinking about the story on and off, then asked the Canadian library which book it was. It turned out the original book was different from what Klassen remembered and he decided to turn his version into a book. I find that interesting and a good lesson to use our imaginations and to understand that memory is not perfect. YET, this book on it's own is strange and not one that I wish to re-read.
