a wonderfully collated introduction to Keats. I enjoyed these poems a lot, it's easy to see why they are so well loved.

i've always enjoyed keats's poetry and i've had this collection for a few years, so i finally picked it up at the end of september. his well known works are popular for a reason, but i really enjoyed reading the other poetry across his life. great selections by tomalin.

I first became aware of the poetry of Keats when I was in university and doing a course on British Literature. I fell in love with the lyrical quality of Keats’ work and the emotions that he manages to pour into each and every poem. There are some poems in this collection that you may be surprised to recognise, or even be aware of, but once you get over that initial surprise and really dig into the poems, you’ll soon fall in love with them too.

Genius of Poetry must work out its own salvation in a man: It cannot be matured by law & precept, but by sensation & watchfulness in itself - That which is creative must create itself... I was never afraid of failure; for I would sooner fail than not be among the greatest.

He has a specific voice and I can recognize his rhetorical skills but it's just not my style
