Charlie Donlea is quickly becoming an author I know I’ll have a crazy ride while reading his books. They’re always fast paced and keeps you flipping the pages to figure out what the heck is going on.

I love the documentary element to this book. It brings a 10 year old case and shines light on all the possible mistakes that were made. The more that was dug up, the more questions you have.

I felt like there was a plot twist every few chapters. I swear I changed my mind on who I think did it like 4 times. I thought I had it figured out and the ending was CRAZY. I love when an author tricks me. This book had me up way past my bedtime finishing. It’s one you won’t want to put down!

If you love a thriller that keeps you second guessing, constant plot twists, elements of a live documentary, and seeing craziness unfold, I highly recommend reading this one!

Could not put this book down. The short chapters bouncing back and forth between storylines made it super gripping and exciting to come back to. Sadly I was a bit disappointed with the ending, not because it wasn’t well done and twisty, but just for my own preferences in how a story wraps up. Great read overall!

Maaaaybe 2.5 stars. This book was way too long and was repetitive and padded with boring boring details. I also knew Marshall did it from the get-go, which doesn't usually happen with mysteries. I had read sooo much and realized I was only at 62% so I skimmed the rest and completely skipped all the parts about Sidney and her bosses/coworkers. I was surprised that she died. But the last part felt soooo so rushed and the actual very end of the book was one of the most abrupt that I've ever read. This book was kind of interesting but mostly I want the wasted hours back.

2.5. I was engaged but the ending was bad

This was a good read, I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Sydney had caught the attention of inmates who know they are only in jail due to negligence of the police force. She actually was able to help get 3 people released from jail.

She takes in the case of Grace, and was able to show how the police force tweaked the evidence to fit their narrative.

Once released, a retired detective believes Grace is not as innocent as she say she is, because she has another case si miliar that happened in the past.
