After reading the first book, I was waiting with bated breath for the next installment! I was excited to dive back into the blood tournament- and wasn’t disappointed. The story picked right up and moved with a rapid pace, which in turn led to me racing through the book to see what happened next. Carmen has to deal with more than her share of horrors, which take their toll on her- but she continues to survive despite all odds. Looking forward to the conclusion of this trilogy to see her continued character development. I received this book as an ARC, but the opinions here are my own.

okay this was better than the first book. much less boring, and gave some good hunger games esque vibes. my only major complaint is the lack of spanish translation. i don’t mind when phrases are written in spanish but there’s no translation immediately after for some of them and it makes it feel like you’re missing important dialogue

I ran and I mean ram to this book after reading book one. The story carried on seamlessly and even went more into the depth of the characters and plot. The author once again had me in awe and suspense after finishing this book. I recommend this book series to anyone who wants a different take on romantic fantasy! I can not wait till book 3 comes out.

I LOVED this. I had the first book in my library already, so I read that one before reading the ARC I received. I love the series, but the cliffhangers! They kill me. The big thing that happened toward the end had me speed reading to find out what happens next. I read both books in a matter of around 3 days, if that gives any indication about how good they are. I can’t wait for the next book!

This series has really sucked me in! I love every minute of it, and just know that I will be devastated when it's over 🙈. The TWISTS. Man, I was not ready. Some aspects were predictable, but others I wasn't expecting. I really enjoy the writing. It's easy to read, and thank you, Kindle, for having a translate feature because my Spanish is R U S T Y. It really helps keep the world in perspective, and I think it is a great aspect of this series and author.

The world building continues, and you see a bit more of the side characters. The main character is really going through the ringer and struggling.

The tropes featured in book 2 are arranged marriage, enemies to lovers to enemies, dystopian, and class-based society. I definitely recommend checking out trigger warnings for this series. There are some things like kidnapping, torture, death, etc.

The first book reignited my love for dystopian books and the 2nd has reaffirmed it. This book picks up right where it ended in the first one. The author did a good job building the world further and delving deeper into the politics. I loved how we got to see more character growth and the development and progression of relationships between each character. So much happens, especially at the end. This book leaves you at the edge of your seat with action, love, and more!
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
