Twiga's curiosity constantly puts him in danger, despite his protective mother's repeated plea. He escapes danger, it seems, by sheer dumb luck. So what's the moral here? Fools and children will come to no harm? If only.

Eh... Not my favorite children's book.

This cute little picture book complete with adorable illustrations (they really give you that "warm and fuzzy" feel!) is more an informative tale than a "good" story. Some giraffe behaviors are explained at the end and throughout, it sweetly illustrates a child's curiosity and sense of independence/notion of invisibility combined with a mamma's worry.

Sweet story but at times I felt like the story was encouraging dependence and not encouraging safe exploration. At one point I was afraid that the baby giraffe might meet at untimely demise.
