After a long time I've finished a book in one sitting. This is masterpiece and make me want to read more by Frederick Backman. There is a specific cadence in his writing that really hooks me in.

This book is about relationship, memories and letting go. Very few times any (non manga) book has kept me invested, involved and consistently emotional throughout the read. This definitely teared me up.

Must read.

This story is so profound, its hard to put into words how much it touched me. It is beautifully written and shows the relationship built between grandfather and grandson. He slowly prepares his grandson to say goodbye one last time before he mentally can no longer be there. It is the saddest, most heart warming gift you can give someone. He doesn't want his grandchild to have any regrets that involve him.

quotes:
“Why are you holding my hand so tight, Grandpa?” the boy whispers
again.
“Because all of this is disappearing, Noahnoah. And I want to keep hold
of you longest of all.”
---------------------------------------------

“What can we do to help Grandpa?"
The dad's tears dry on the boy's sweatshirt.
"We can walk down the road with him. We can keep him company.”
