This was a great book. I guess I enjoyed it more as we did it for class and had to go through the various techniques of Postcolonial writings. This aided my understanding of the book. I greatly appreciate Sidhwa for presenting such an authentic first hand account of the horrors of partition. When the gap in the narrative came to my notice, I was astounded by the subtle details that Sidhwa had placed and left it to her readers capability to connect the dots.
