Wow, what a follow up regarding Lorian, after the end of Ashed of Man.

Being inside his head was quite different than Had, which was refreshing to read.

Lorian's story is quite bleak, some of the bleakest we've seen yet, his story was not finished here and it ain't yet.

We see such an interesting evolution on his character. Hoping to see more of him in the next books please.

Now I gotta wait for Disquiet Gods, a few more weeks left.

It was so hard to read how Lorian first was happy by his sacrifice, but time passed and he started kinda regretting that, since Had is basically stuck where he is, not fighting, which I get that since Lorian doesn't know much of what's going on.

ALSO, the whole Arthurian ways thingy, fucking cool.

So far this has been my favorite novella in the Sun Eater series. We learn a lot more about Lorian, and he has been solidified as one of my favorite characters. Learning how he sees Hadrian and his relation to some other characters really deepened his character. Seeing Belusha was also really interesting. It had been mentioned a lot up to this point, so it was fun seeing it for the first time. And having since read book 6 in the series I can honestly say this one should be read before reading book 6. Don’t skip this one.
