Although I was unsure at first as to where this story was going to lead me to, I’m very glad I kept going. I particularly enjoyed the characters adaptations to change and how kindness and emotion was a big part of that. At the start I felt unsure whether I should have been ‘taking sides’ but like the characters, by the end I loved them both and realised that didn’t actually matter.
this book was amazing I just love it, Melanie never gave up on her self and how wanda help her and trust her in everything.
Frankly, I gave up trying to read it less than 100 pages in. I just could not care about the main character, and I found her obsession with her "host's" boyfriend really icky. I've heard it gets good if you stick it out, but I just didn't care. Oh well.
I love dystopian books and this is an example of why I love them so much. I loved that this was is the perspective of an alien species that over takes Earth. I like the struggles she had with her host body Melanie. I was so happy that they found a way for Wanda to stay and be with Ian. I wished there was more of their love story at the end and more about the other humans that they found in the end. But other than that I loved this book.
I love the way stephenie meyer writes. I find it enjoyable and an easy read. I really wish that she would get over the "poor clumsy girl overcomes obstacles" theme. If she switched it up a bit, I would definitely be more excited about this book.
I am a fan of every single Stephenie Meyer book. I’d seen this movie before, but I had never read the book. I was missing out!! There’s so much in the book that’s not in the movie (as that usually goes).
I love anything apocalyptic or dystopian and this gave me both those vibes. We also had some adventure, suspense, and romance. The relationship between Wanda and Melanie was such a rollercoaster, but I imagine that’s how it would be with two personalities in one body.
It has me wondering if I would be strong enough to fight like Melanie if I were in her situation. It is absolutely gut wrenching when souls tear apart the host brain upon learning of possible separation.
I read an article about supposedly two other books being written for the series. Where are those? I need more of this story. What’s going to happen to Earth? Will the two kinds continue to coexist? Will there be war?

This is a book I've read a few times now. Shocking since it was written by the same person that did Twilight. However, it is a wonderful read. Sci-fy future where aliens have invaded, but a few rogue humans still exist. This leads to a wonderful adventure story filled with empathy and love. The characters are relatable and lovable. I will definitely read this one again.

This is not, in any form, a 5-star book.
For many, there is much to be desired in terms of characters, plot, writing style, and flow.
But this is a 5-star book to me. This is my comfort book. This is the steady book on my shelf that I pull out when I can't fathom reading anything else. When I've been away from reading so long it doesn't even seem worth it. This is my shining beacon calling me back. It scratches every itch for me: it has plenty of scifi, while remaining much in our easy to connect to modern world. It's got every type of relationship growth you could have: self, friendship, family, enemies, lovers, society. It has survival elements. It has sadness. It has hope. And plenty of growth for all characters. It just makes me happy.
