Super cheesy but also incredibly steamy

I like how were get to view the story from Madison and Luk’s POV. I think it gives it a good little twist and, quite honestly, I’m always a fan of multiple POV’s. I know some don’t like them but I’m not one of those that don’t. In this story, even if it doesn’t pick up immediately where the other person left off, it’s because we’re rehashing the others feelings during a certain event that already happened to the other person in the previous chapter. For instance, *SPOILER* in Madison’s chapter Madison runs away and Luke rescues her, then in Luke’s chapter we start back with his feelings when Madison ran away.

The main thing I had a problem with is that with this novel there wasn’t a heavy, dramatic plot twist. There wasn’t a reason why they shouldn’t be together. Or a big, heart wrenching moment. Obviously, the two will end up together. It’s romance. But, to me, there was no purpose. There was no drive. The thing keeping them “apart” was her being from the city and him being from BFE. *SPOILER* Y’all. They were apart for six hours, I think? And then Luke bought a plane ticket because he couldn’t be away from her. Oh, okay.

The Misadventures series are very quick reads if you’re looking for something to pass a couple of hours or fall in love with. Either way.

Confession: I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Misadventures of a City Girl when I started it. I was a bit afraid it would be more sex scenes than actual character development and storyline. I couldn't have been more wrong. This one surprised me quite a bit.

I'm a total sucker for a grumpy hero book and I love fish out of water reads, too. Misadventures of a City Girl was a great pairing of the two and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both Madison and Luke were great characters, and more similar than I thought at first glance. They had crazy chemistry and the sexy times were smoking hot. Their connection went further than the bedroom, however, and I think I enjoyed that the most. I ended up with quite a few feels as a result of Luke's backstory and growth, too.

I loved the female narrator. Jennifer Mack is a new-to-me narrator and I really liked her style. It did take some time for the male narrator, Lance Greenfield, to grow on me. His gruff voice definitely worked for the character, but it was a little off-putting to me at times, too. (Namely during the sex scenes, so it might've been more about the things he was saying and not HOW the narrator was saying it.)

Misadventures of a City Girl was my first Meredith Wild AND Chelle Bliss book, the first I borrowed from the library via Hoopla AND my first time listening to each of these narrators. That's a lot of firsts for one book. Ha!

Great book , I loved the characters and the story line. it was a great read

Omg! After reading this i feel like i need to go out to California and find me a rugged mountain man hiding in the woods. I dont think i would ever leave.
Maddison is coming out of a devastating divorce from her highschool sweetheart who cheated on her. She decides to get out of the city and go to a quiet retreat in the woods. After getting settled she takes a walk in the woods and stumbles on Luke.
Luke came back from his last tour of duty as a navy seal and didnt want to deal with people anymore. He retreated to his cabin in ghe woods alone and was perfectly content until he ran into Maddison in the woods.
These two are polar opposites but the chemistry between them is so hot it will melt your ereader. But is there attraction purely physical? Will they be able to go back to their normal lives after Madison's vacation is over or will they find that they can't live without each other? Find out in this steamy romance.

adventurous hopeful medium-paced

Not the worst fluffy raunch book I’ve ever read, (everything EL James spewed out that I’ve had the misfortune to read still takes the cake on that).
But it’s probably the quickest, done and dusted in a couple of hrs - it’s more of a novella.

This is the first book in the Misadventures series #1, OMG loved these authors individual, but together Chelle & Meredith are off the charts, I couldnt put it down, Ok the story about Luke and Madison, They had chemistry that was explosiv e, sorry no spoilers here you just have to Pre-Order it now to read the whole story. I highly recommend this book, A must read, I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.

LOVED!!!

After a disaster of a divorce, Madison decides to take some time away from Hollywood and regroup at a mountain retreat. While there, she has has a run in with the local "mountain man", Luke, who chooses to live off the grid after his time in the military. Instant attraction is overpowered by irritation and embarrassment. Their second surprise interaction wasn't going to end the same way. This a short, but super steamy read with a happy ever after.

4 out of 5 stars.

I received a free ARC from the publisher and NetGalley; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
