Loved it! At first it was a little slow, but I understand why it was important for character development. Then, I couldn’t wait to get back to it. And the ending...what a brilliant way to leave us all wanting more!
I 'read' this one via Audiobook. It moved quickly enough, kept my interest and the reader was easy to comprehend. I found that it was written for the big screen and probably would serve itself well to be made into a TV movie.
I expected more from Chevy Stevens. Still Missing was such an intense page-turner. That Night fell flat. The secondary characters were never developed enough. I never got to really know any of them, therefor when the killer was finally revealed, it didn't really mean much to me. I was convinced the mother had something to do with it, though. This might be my last Chevy Stevens book.
Book #53 read in 2014
I thought this started out slowly although I do understand the need to set the scene. However, I was hooked. The way the mean girls were written made it impossible not to root for Toni. The twist at the end was a great payoff. I can't wait to read more from Stevens!

It's finally over and there aren't enough HALLELUJAHS to express my relief.
Full review coming soon, but good lord, this book is one part TERRIBLE narrator (her voice is unbearably nasally and her Dude Voice is basically just her whispering) one part Chevy Stevens fawning over Orange is the New Black, one part Mean Girls (no lie - this whole thing started because of a boy someone liked and they're still bullying one another into their 30s) and the worst ending imaginable. I continued because I wanted to know Who Did It...only to be horribly letdown. The entire novel Toni went on and on about who's framing her while I thought surely Ms. Stevens wouldn't do that, that there must be an awesome twist coming. Nope. No twist at all. You'll find out within the first few pages who killed Nicole and spare yourself the trouble of the next few hundred.

I read this book expecting a typical thriller...sit on the edge of your seat and hang on tight! Instead, I found a thoughtful book about bullying and making judgements about people based on what they appear to be on the outside.
The book shows how bullying affects so many more than just the target and also gives you a glimpse into what can lead so done to become a bully.
We got to get a glimpse of the dangers of rash judgements and were taught that perhaps just maybe you should look a little deeper the next time you start to dismiss someone based on what they look like. You could miss a chance to get to know some really great people.
Also, we saw the reverse-where you judge someone as good just because they look the way society says they should look.
Perhaps...just maybe...we should take the time to examine the heart?

I was able to guess the major reveal pretty early on, but that didn’t stop me from being completely engrossed in the story. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Mixed
This book left me with mixed emotions. I kinda liked it, I kinda thought it was meh. The writing at times is borderline juvenile (think YA) and other times not. The plot was a little predictable but there was a good surprise in there. And sadly, as the reader, I didn’t get the full satisfaction I was hoping for but I guess it’s reminiscent of real life in that way. Overall not a bad book.

3.5 stars
A good, fast paced plot, but the writing was lacking. I enjoyed it well enough though.
