A solid 3.75, really. It's not my favorite of Stevens' but I still enjoyed it a lot.
My first Chevy Stevens. I was captivated until the ending. Unlike some others, I did not find Toni to be annoying until she made the assumption that her sister's childhood friend must be divorced or she never got married because she still had the same last name as in high school. Really? 2013 and that's the only two options?
Regardless of the anticlimactic ending and the annoying last name assumption, I truly was engrossed in the story...listened in two days, so I'll be giving the author a second try for sure.

I was so excited when I received a early copy of this book first time I've won anything.
This book started good, but then it dragged on until the main point. Was hard to push through when it got boring. Too bad.
I got an advanced reader's copy through Goodreads. I enjoyed this book, and found the plot to be interesting. I appreciated the insights into bullying and prison/parolee life. I felt that Chevy also did a wonderful job portraying the often complicated family dynamics, which were made even more complicated by the one sister Toni being found guilty of murdering her younger sister Nicole. I also felt the book moved along well, and there were some unexpected twists at the end. While not Still Missing, I would recommend it.

So good I gave up a very valuable hour of sleep to keep reading. Some of the teen angst was a bit much, but I did enjoy being somewhat surprised by the ending. I'll definitely look into her other books.
This is one of the most frustrating books I've ever read in my thirty years of existence on this planet.
How much can one character go through??? It was borderline ridiculous. I liked Toni a lot and I was rooting for her the entire time, but reading about her was exhausting. I can't really say anything else without spoilers.
Toni really couldn't catch a break and it was just super frustrating as a reader. In jail, out of jail, framed for theft, in jail, out of jail, framed for murder. After a while it was just so monotonous and I couldn't wait for it to be over.
3 stars because I really did like Toni and I think that's the reason it made me so angry. Good character, rough story.
Also, I loved that she adopted a dog and the dog was a reason she kept pushing through shit. Slay Captain.

High school bullies are very real and very terrible, but watching Toni's legitimate family turn on her was rough. Nicole got a lot of slack for being young but sixteen is old enough to know better than to treat your sister like such garbage. I don't know if their mom ever had a name, but she was AWFUL. Even though dad was okay, he could have stuck up for Toni more. She literally told him about Shauna and co coming to the restaurant to torture her.Toni really couldn't catch a break and it was just super frustrating as a reader.
