Oh boy. This book was such a letdown. When I started it, I was so completely engrossed and creeped out (in a good way). I loved the atmosphere the author created for Sara’s diary scenes from the past. It was so eerie and bone chilling. The present day stuff is what tore me away from the mood that was created and nearly ruined the book for me. Some of the present day plot and characters were just so unnecessary and muddled. If the book had taken place completely in Sara’s time period, I would have enjoyed this much more.

This book creeped me out which I loved! I loved the multiple timelines and how they all come together for the ending. This did give me pet cemetery vibes which added to the atmosphere of the book. Would be a perfect read for spooky season

Read for Horror Book Club. I knew going in that there were a few different perspectives and timelines. The story was actually pretty easy to follow compared to other books I've read with similar set ups. The timelines were clear without too much jumping around. All in all, I thought it was an interesting read.

It was obnoxious that over the span of how many years, no one had found the entrance to this cave, even though it was basically in plain site.
