As a watercolor artist, I found this to be a really intriguing read as it clearly illustrates the artist's techniques. Some tricks I already knew, but others I did not and I found it extremely gratifying to finally purchase an art book that not only gives step-by-step instruction, but also heavily discusses how to create the creatures or characters you want to include in your drawing/painting.
It was really refreshing to see the author go from sketches and talking about how to create your fantastical creature to how she ended up at the end with a complete piece.
Beautiful illustrations, wonderfully clear descriptions of details, techniques and materials and interesting little descriptors and stories for her paintings.
I do strongly recommend this book if you are interested in creating fantasy or science fiction works in watercolor.
