I cried so many times reading this. This novel absolutely wrecked me.
Minus half a star for Mo Ran's sobstory of childhood chapter. It's literally the same like any other Danmei protagonist, looking at you, Wei Wuxian and Luo Binghe. At least the origin of the dumplings got explained.

This book had me sobbing into my handkerchief from sadness and smiling into my pillow from happiness. Though its a reread, most of the details are hazy in my memory so it feels like I'm experiencing it for the first time again and I'm so happy to feel that.

i have been reading the series for a couple months now, it just keeps getting better. i would definitely recommend if you like danmei, and don’t mind a darker plot and relationship
