Absolutely loved this book. If you're unfamiliar with Irish name spelling and pronunciation, do yourself a favor and enjoy the audiobook. It's very well done.

Honestly, this book has it all, beautiful prose, dark humor, murder, and mystery. And the characters are an assortment of entertaining folks.

We discussed the book on the February 2022 Cocktail Hour show: https://youtu.be/gBoDYvcgo5U

I loved the twists and turns and the ghosts! I would have loved a tick more resolution but still a good one.

Continuing my TBR project:
This is one the oldest selection on my TBR list - Originally added March 12, 2017.

This is an odd little magic realism book that may take me a few reads to fully comprehend. I liked it but often times I felt like I was in a fever dream.

I am DNFing this book after the prologue. I don’t often DNF a book, especially for book club where I feel obligated to read it, but after the prologue I cannot make myself keep going when it’s clear this isn’t a book for me.

This book---it was a bit on the "gritty" side in parts for my taste, but not overly. Kidd can tell a story. This on is like reading a really deep episode of Criminal Minds. It's got interesting characters, quirky characters, detestable characters and entertaining characters. It is not my favorite, but I can't deny how well written this story was.

I found this book to be quite a delightful surprise. Despite the prologue leading me to expect something different, the story itself was thoroughly enjoyable. The cast of characters was delightfully eccentric and the paranormal twists added an extra layer of intrigue that kept me turning the pages. Overall, I found the book to be a truly engaging and unique reading experience.
