Cute book, great for those who enjoy the Bear books by Karma Wilson.
This is a sweet story of friendship. I think it would be a nice one to revisit/use in a stem challenge for building [vs the more traditional 3 little pigs story used in stem challenges] because it has the elements of friendship and service to others in it.
A lovely story of friendship. The animals keep finding items in their woods and wonder where they came from, they have fun making them into new things for themselves. There are some arguments but they end up sharing and being kind to each other. Owl finds a mole stuck in a tree and they come to realise their items are parts of Mole's balloon that broke. They work together to fix it and save Mole. A great story about problem-solving and kindness to share with FS and KS1 children. There are lots of opportunities for prediction such as where the objects came from, what the animals may use them from and how they could rescue Mole. Children could discuss or write a story about where the animals go on their adventure after they save Mole in the hot air balloon.
