I guessed the murderer early on but appreciate how Christie transformed the genre with this book, hence 5 stars.

This is my first read of an Agatha Christie novel. I promised a friend I would read this book in particular. I will say that it took me a little while to get invested into the story, but I think that is because I don’t read a lot of murder mystery novels- this being one of very few. I do think, however, that the story was organized really well! Once I got the hang of Christie’s writing style, I was able to cling to more clues as the story progressed. I tried not to dwell too much on who I thought it might be and just savor the process of reading. Towards the end, I didn’t want to put the book down! Overall, a good read for sure. I love Hercule and his quirks! I will definitely have to read more of Hercule Poirot’s cases!

Brilliant! One of my favourites of Christie's so far. Highly recommend, but I'd suggest reading some of her others first so as to not spoil yourself on what I hear many consider to be her finest work. I can certainly see why.

Such a good twist. Poirot would have been disappointed with me and my little grey cells because never in a million years would I have guessed the ending.
