Would be 5 stars if it weren’t for the random and unnecessary inclusion of breasts throughout (breast used as a verb, breastless as an adjective, breasts being described when they have nothing to do with anything going on). Stephen King is a good writer but still a man at the end of the day (and writing this in the 70s, no less).

Carrie left me hallow, sad, and angry  to be honest. For Stephen King have this be his first published book it's really  amazing. He has a bad reputation of having bad endings but this one is bitter  sweet.

I Really  enjoyed  the  overall  story however I found the  ultimate  ending of those who deserved to suffer  the most  like Margaret,Chris, and her boy toy, really  lacking and they deserved  the worst  things possible. I also feel sue who did seem to have repented  somewhat  still had this arrogance  and selfishness and did not care about Tommy as much as she tells  herself. It also  just feels tragic how Tommy  went  out especially when he was starting to see Carrie differently. Seemingly Carrie was replacing sue in his eyes.

Overall this is a great read and really this is more of a tragedy than horror.

I still feel like  it speaks out to modern  society  where we throw the  word community around like it means something  but when shit hits the fan everyone is out for themselves. This is especially true  with the religious cults and fanatics we don't put a stop to sinister and fallacious beliefs even though it degrades society. I'm sure there are a bunch of carries out there without super  powers to at least  get a speck of retribution.

I keep telling myself that Steven King books aren’t worth it, but I always want to read more horror and he’s the main option. Too much sex/profanity to be enjoyable, but the basic premise is interesting. Appeals to people who have been bullied.
