Sir Arthur Conan Doyle deserves every bit of fame he amassed from writing these stories. I so badly wanted to enjoy Sherlock Holmes, but unfortunately these two novellas are what made me finally realize that I don't care for mysteries or crime stories.

3.5 stars. Well- written, and I think Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was very intelligent. The Sign of the Four's subject matter wasn't as interesting to me. It was funny to read A Study in Scarlet with the evil, scary Mormons.

I mean, maybe I just wasn’t in the mindset for this. I love me some Sherlock (on BBC) but I couldn’t seem to keep my wind from wandering while reading.
