Lutzke warns his fans at the start that this book is a departure from what they expect from his writing but instead is aimed at a different, more mainstream audience. That said – this isn’t MY preferred genre. The story is void of the “feels” his normal work gives us. I knew that going in so I wasn’t disappointed. It is written well and succinct. The main characters are compelling and don’t feel forced. The story flows nicely. It is what I call a palate cleanser – a light bite to reset your senses but nothing that sets your mind or heart into overdrive. Bloodletter was fun and I think it successfully achieves what it set out to do – entertain. I am certain that I will read the following books in the series if for no more reason than I love his writing.

Loved this so much. Chad Lutzke is a favourite of mine I’ve read nearly everything he’s put out. He states in the prologue this book isn’t his normal style and to imagine a different author however his amazing poetic writing shines through in here the same as in any other book. I love vampires and loved this book. Cannot wait for the next one to come out.
