As far as I can remember - I don't remember haha, even after reading the synopsis again. Maybe time for a re-read

I can’t believe the author made me like and care about not just one but TWO characters only for them to be killed

Really enjoyed this one - well, the 2nd half gets the “really” haha. 3.5 for the first half/4.5 for the second.

This one was boring and I didn’t like the end. The previous books were better. I’ll try the next one to see if it’s worth reading.

So far, this is probably the least favourite of the 2 other books.
School settings are hit and miss with me. I used to love them but as I got older, I find teenage drama well just not something I want to relive. This being said, it isn't any old school. And since Mack isn't a teenager (hooray for the small things) she doesn't get involved in too many dramas.

We finally begin to understand what she is, admittedly at the end but still hints are dropped and Mack gets in as much trouble as she can.

This all being said, I was almost not on board when Mack falls for a prank that she should have known better. I actually very nearly deleted the book off my kindle because I was so put off. I still am.

I'm going to carry on reading this series because that ending and I have to know what she is!

I highly advice not listening to the end of this book while in the middle of a grocery store. I had to stop several times to prevent myself from crying in the pasta aisle. This was a great installment and really show Mac growing as a character and learning to control her emotions better. I loved vast amount of challenges and moments that happened in this. The slow burn is killing me in all the best ways and I need more. My heart hurt so much by the end of this. I’m still not sure what overall plot or problem we’re working towards but I honestly don’t care. I just want more.

Why was this plotline necessary. It was overly boring to get through.

FINALLY!!!

9/18 rereading
Something is funny about the dragon up in the tower.
Most of the school stuff is a little ridiculous esp the way Mack is treated

I get the sense that this series doesn't really know what genre it wants to fit into, but hey, with all that happened with this one it doesn't really matter. While Bloodfire was your fairly typical shifter book, and Bloodmagic being very filler-like, Bloodrage has Mack in a school setting (but really in the most, bare minimum, fill the time kind of way) to uphold her end of a bargain to getting her friend out of a statis spell.

I enjoyed it much more though because of the strength of its secondary characters. They helped with the previously very confused worldbuilding, and it was interesting to see the complexities of the different species (races?) relationships with each other. The much stronger characterizations meant that I didn't even mind the minimal Corrigan screen time. Unfortunately, I'm confused by the decision to kill off Brock and Thomas, because by the time they're actually well rounded characters, they're already gone. You'd think that Mack, having already gone through the death of her father figure, would've had enough grief to handle. It also resulted in a weird tonal shift, when previously the story had been very silly for the most part.
